BASIC CHARACTERISTICS AND USE

photo RIZ Transmitters OR 500 K-01/A The 500 kW SW broadcast transmitter type RIZ 500 K-01/A is a member of the RIZ new generation of amplitude modulated transmitters. With completely solid state modulator and new approach for getting SSB signal this transmitter is superior to any other standard SW transmitter in the 500 kW power range.

Using DSP (Digital Signal Processing), and basic principles of Kahn System, the advanced SSB system is achieved and applied to C-class RF output amplifier, resulting in excellent overall transmitter efficiency.

This transmitter, as all other RIZ transmitters is designed in accordance with German ARD standards and CCIR recommendations.

The transmitter itself is constructed as a self-contained unit. All control and monitoring elements are installed on the front panel of the transmitter. Tuning and sequential control of the transmitter is based on 16-bit microcontroller INTEL 87 C 196 KC, "ALTERA" P.LD. and DSP (TMS 320)
