General Description

The 419 F is a continuous coverage 250,000 watt AM transmitter designed for A3 operation in the international short wave broadcast bands (5.0 to 22.0 MHz). All power supplies use solid state rectifiers. Modulator tubes are Eimac Type 4CV100,000C vapor-cooled tetrodes. A 4CV250,000B tetrode is used in the rf final amplifier. A 3CW20,000A7 zero bias triode is used in the rf driver amplifier. Solid state amplifiers are used in the low level audio and rf stages.

All transmitter control and monitoring can be accomplished from a single front panel. Fast frequency change is provided with selection of 10 pre-selected frequencies. The transmitter can be easily tuned to a new frequency by using seven tuning controls. Once tuning is accomplished and entered as one of 10 preset channels, the transmitter can be retuned, without manual retuning, by activating the appropriate channel. A vapor system cools the final rf and modulator amplifiers; the rf driver tube, output tuning components and output loading components are water cooled; forced air cooling is used for other transmitter components.
